Camping 28/08/09 - 29/08/09 We went camping on his birthday at 浪茄 (MacLehose Trail 2), one of the hottest sites for camping in HK. He used to go camping, so he got all the equipment and gear ready. We carried our heavy bags walking for about 15mins to get to the beach (I couldn't even lift up his bag! ). We arrived at about 5pm. It was my first time to go camping, so everything seemed so interesting to me! Upon arrival, he started to assemble the support rod to raise the dome tent. The tent has 2 zippered tent doors and an air mattress as bedding. He gave me 2 camping water bags to collect water, each of which has a tube with on/off switch. Basically it is used in the same way as tap water. He also had a set of utensil - simple yet handy! When I was cooking, it reminded me of the time when I was young playing 煮飯仔 ! We had hotpot, "Bo Chai Fan", carrot & meat soup for dinner - simple yet delicious ! In midnight, the weather suddenly changed. The wind was shifted to our direction and it was getting stronger and stronger. I even saw lighting above the nearby island! I was a bit worried cux trees were around. He quickly hammered in the tent stakes for a secure tent. Luckily the strong wind did not last for long and it didn't rain at all. The sky was starting to become clear. In a short while when I looked up the sky, it was completely covered by stars! I've never seen such a beautiful sky (except in the space museum)!!!!!! WoWo was sleeping so well next to me. She was even dreaming (her hands and legs were held up) ! We had a first cup of milk tea under the sunrise. Sitting on the beach with the sea breeze along, it was a very relaxing morning! The sun always comes out early in summer. It was scotching hot in the afternoon. We couldn't wait to go swimming. WoWo was so excited, running and jumping around. The beach wasn't big, but there were about 25 yachts lining up, instantly making the sea crowded. We brought some fruits, "baby" watermelon, apples and pears. Apple is WoWo's favourite fruit. We finished packing at about 4pm. I had a good sleep, probably I was too sleepy after camping. What the best about camping is that I can entirely keep myself off from work (though I haven't started working)/ worries. We didn't check out the time in the whole day. Apart from hiking, I would say that camping is another good choice for city workers to relax during weekends. |
